I have 25 of the game boxes that I wanted to put into these sleeves. Many of the boxes are quite damaged. There are bent edges, rips, fading artwork, you name it. I didn't really want to risk damaging these any further by trying to repair them, so the best option was simply to protect them from further damage.
Lets see how these game sleeves worked out! First I tried one out on a box that was in relatively good condition. For this I picked my Xenophobe box.
The sleeves came flat packed. They are easy to bend into shape and stay quite rigid once bent. The click-in cover is nice too.
The sleeves sure were snug! The box fit perfectly inside them however. I was quite happy after this first test. The box looked significantly better in the sleeve.
Next I wanted to try out a damaged box. For this I picked Desert Strike. As you can see it's crushed and has rips and is fading all over.
In the sleeve it was a million times better! I was amazed that even the crushed sides were forced to stay more or less flat when fit inside the sleeve.
For some boxes I had to use a craft tool to hold the plastic in place while I slid the game box into the sleeve properly.
With the first five boxes done, the results were amazing! Now I have 20 more to go. I'm now inspired more than ever to get more Atari Lynx games in their boxes instead of just getting the cartridges on their own.
